Resident Research Coordination Program:

Collective endeavor to the next level of research

Residents 2021-2022

The Division of Advanced Prosthodontics and Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Biotechnology are conducting a division-wide research coordinating program to facilitate and promote research by residents and clinical faculty in collaboration with research faculty. Research coordinators create research opportunities by bridging and connecting residents and faculty members and provide with consults and guidance to embody their research interests and academic goals. The research coordination program also aims at promoting interdisciplinary collaboration within the division, strengthen graduate residency programs, and effectively utilizing resources and creativity in the division and Weintraub Center.

There are currently 20 residents (6 graduate prosthodontics, 3 maxillofacial prosthodontics, 6 general practice dentistry, and 5 VA hospital prosthodontics) in the program. Each resident will have an opportunity to be provided with two research projects at least in different areas of research; 1) mechanical/material/clinical research and 2) biological/bioengineering research. Faculty mentor(s) will be assigned for each project.
